The Last 10 Songs!

Mine is slightly more scratched
Music is on, always. It is in my head, in my car, in my bed, when I work-out, when I ride, walk and run. My iPod is a random time machine, 14000 songs strong. I have had it since the darned things came out and revolutionalized all this music stuff. I have never upgraded it. It is my memory's workhorse.

Here another entry about the last 10 songs that came on in shuffle:

1. Richard and Linda Thompson - A Heart needs a Home: Damn near cried at this one, which would have been odd while I was folding the laundry{A bit like women's television}  This tune is from 1975, and still amazes with its simple beauty. And Richard Thompson remains one of my favorites all these years later.
2. Social Distortion - When she Begins: I will never forget seeing these boys twice from the 1st row of some sweaty venue when I was much younger and could handle being in sweaty venues, and didn't have to leave the pit to use the potty every 30 minutes.
3.Golden Age - TV on The Radio:  Wonderful band that continues to evolve. I need to go see them in Brooklyn one day, but likely they will play in a sweaty venue.
4.Stereophonics - Nothing Compares to You: I am pretty sure this is my favorite version of this song, better than the famous one by baldy or the original by Prince. There is something about the all out raspiness and simple arrangement that is darned stunning.
5. Cigarette Tricks - Guided By Voices: One of the most prolific bands ever that generally maintain a high level of quality. I always smile when one of their short esoteric pop songs comes on.
6. Reckoner - Radiohead: My 4 year old and I blasted this in the car, and were fascinated by the drumming in the left channel. It hardly rocks, but still does in a way. We both howled along with Thom's vocals, and in the end it was otherworldly. I guess that is the point.
7. When Under Ether - PJ Harvey:  Few women give me goosebumps regularily. PJ, Chan Marshall, Aretha Franklin and that girl from Over the Rhine never fail. Oh, and my wife.
8. Black Star - Gillian Welch: A Radiohead cover which is darned purdy and sparse.
9.Car Thief - Beastie Boys: What has not been said about Paul's Boutique? I cannot forget when I first got this and listened to it over and over on headphones and danced around the room like a jazz monkey.
10.Unreachable - John Frusciante - The Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist.  This is a spacey cool record that more people should hear.

Listen carefully, you never know when your ears may fall off your head.
